Karl Frederick Althage

   Karl Frederick Althage died unexpectedly on September 27th, 2016 at age of 67 at his home in Columbia, MO.

   Karl is survived by his wife, Karen Althage.  His children; Erin Althage, Jeff & Suzanne Althage, Jonathan & Ashley Althage, Stephanie & Steve Isaacs, Kyle & Shawna Cook.  His Grandchildren; Vincent, Jackson, Avery, Alexandra, and Evan.  Two brothers; Dean and Greg Althage.  And many other friends and family.

   Karl was born in New Haven, MO on January 3rd, 1949 to Karl and Alice Althage.  He graduated from Mizzou with a degree in Agricultural Economics.  He worked for the USDA from the time he graduated until the time he retired. 

   Karl was an avid hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman, fan of NASCAR & Carl Edwards, STL Cardinals, and Mizzou sports.   He loved educating and mentoring younger hunters.  Karl never met a stranger; he loved to have a conversation about his hobbies to anyone that would listen.   His 5 grandchildren were his pride & joy.

   A visitation will be held at St. Thomas More Newman Center in Columbia, MO at 1pm on Saturday, October 1st, with a service following at 2pm.  A reception will follow the burial at 4pm at St. Thomas More Newman Center.
