Virginia Lynn (Clayton) Barrow

Virginia Lynn Clayton-Barrow, 79, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025.

Born in Fort Pierce, Florida, on November 29,1945, Lynn brought beauty, love, and laughter into the lives of everyone she met. She lived most of her life in Missouri, where she built a legacy not only through her career but in the way she cared for others—with kindness, wit, and an open heart.

A talented hairstylist, Lynn owned her own salon—Lynn’s Beauty Lane—in New London. She later styled clients at the Holiday Inn salon in Hannibal and finished her career at the Elizabeth Arden counter in the Columbia Mall. Whether she was behind the chair or behind the makeup counter, she had a gift for making people feel beautiful, inside and out.

Lynn had a natural ability to draw people in and make them feel important—because to her, they truly were. Her compassion was deep, her sarcasm was legendary, and her generosity knew no limits. She would give anyone what they needed, even if it meant doing without herself.

She is survived by her children, Patty Soderman, Chris (Doris) Tobin, Sharon (Mike) Damron, her sister Peggy (Roger) Woodhurst; her stepson Jay (Jessica) Barrow, her grandchildren Monica and Gabriella Soderman, Natalie (Isaac) Carter, Benjamin Damron, Paulo Mejia, Fiorella San Martin, Andrea Anchante, Brandon (Megan) Tobin, Melody Tobin, Claire, Henry, and Hannah Barrow, and great-grandsons Ezra Anchante, Ellis Dunkerson, Arthur Tobin, Julius and Khari Carter.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill Barrow and her deeply loved siblings Joyce, Margie, Elmyra, Leslie, Jimmy, Johnny, Frankie and George.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1st at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel, 1610 N Garth Ave, Columbia, MO 65202.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel to assist the family of a hospice patient in need, honoring Lynn’s lifelong spirit.
