Teresa Katherine (German) Voorheis

Teresa Voorheis, 62, of Columbia, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, at the University Hospital and Clinics.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Carr-Yager Funeral Home, Fayette, Missouri followed by a graveside service at the Fayette City Cemetery.

Teresa was born in Columbia, Missouri on October 11, 1963, to James “Buddy” and Mary Katherine (Linhart) German. On June 22, 1985, she married Donnie Voorheis in Columbia, Missouri and he preceded her in death. 

Teresa, a Columbia native, born at Boone Hospital Center and Hickman High School graduate living in a home “her Daddy” built, and has spent the last couple of years across the street from this home in another home that was built by her father. 

Teresa enjoyed feeding the neighborhood cats, along with an occasional Racoon. She connected with family through facebook messenger and could always be counted on for uplifting messages. She cared deeply for her family. She never missed a birthday or anniversary and always ended a conversation with a “Thank you! Love you! Bye!”  

Teresa is survived by her mother, Mary “Katherine”; three siblings, Jamie German (Debi), Lecil German and Heidi German (Justin Page); and two nieces, Kimberly (Turner) Schuster and Kara German.

The family would like to thank her cargiver, Shelia, for her great care and companionship.

She was preceded in death by her father, James German and her nephew, Deyton Page.
