Sylvia Jessica (Pineda) Leonberger

Sylvia Jessica Leonberger, 79, a resident of Centralia, MO passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Sylvia was born on August 18, 1943, in Sterling, IL, the daughter of Maximillion Pineda and Catherine Martinez Pineda. On September 16, 1967, in Beecher City, IL, she married Orval Lewis Leonberger and he preceded her in death.

Before becoming a resident of Centralia for the last four years, Sylvia was a resident of Aurora, IL for 45 years. While in Aurora she was very active in volunteering her time to various organizations. She served as a Kane County Board Member from 2006-2010 as well as serving with various political organizations. She also volunteered with the United Way, a leader with the Girl Scouts, local PTA as well as other school and social organizations.

She will be greatly missed and forever remembered by three children, Antonio Feliciano of Bakersfield, CA, Jason Leonberger and Tanya Trujillo, both of Centralia, MO; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; three brothers and one sister.

In addition to her husband, Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Tara Monique Leonberger; two brothers, Roland Pineda and Ronald Pineda.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
