Susan Ann (Niggemann) Jarrett

Susan Ann Jarrett, 70, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, at Boone Hospital Center.  Susan was born on August 23, 1955, to the late Don and Loraine (Mitchell) Niggemann.     

Susan worked in the service world from her days at the nursing home where she took great pride in bringing compassion to those that felt they were no longer part of society for the stigma a nursing home brought at the time.  She also waitressed some time, but where she really shined were her days at Giers Fuel Stop (Eagle Stop) and DJ's Texaco both of Eldon. She loved getting to know everyone from those passing through to the locals she got to share the town gossip with.  She was there when the fuel prices started soaring after 9/11, her beautiful personality helped many forget the hard times they were facing. 

When she wasn't working and raving about her three sons and grandchildren, whom she adored, to anyone that would give her the chance, she enjoyed the sweet little things of life from cooking, sewing, gardening. When all the chores of the day were through, she loved watching the classics like Andy Griffith and Petticoat Junction. 

Her time here wasn't perfect as no one's is. But for a woman who had to endure the loss of an infant in a time where there were few answers why, she kept moving forward the best way she knew how. She was a strong woman and endured a-lot and still kept a smile on her face. 

Susan is survived by her sons, Tommy Jarrett (Savannah Belanger), Stephen Waller (Cami) and James Nemeth (Tina); siblings, Joe Niggemann, Debbie Watson and Donna Patrick; nine grandchildren, Danny, Hunter, Ryan, Riley, Lexi, Quentin, Zachery, Kierstyn and Kariana (Tuck); and one great grandson, Hazel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Tina Waller and husband, Frank Jarrett.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel, 1610 North Garth Avenue, Columbia, MO, starting at 3:00 p.m.
