Sue Smith, 85, of New Franklin, MO passed away at Riverdell Care Center in Boonville, MO on October 28, 2021.
Sue was born on August 16, 1936 in Wilton, MO a daughter of Elmer and Mary Logwood Sapp. She married Harold Smith in Ashland, MO on October 18, 1952 and he survives. Sue was a member of the First Baptist Church in New Franklin and was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse and had been employed with the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics and at area nursing homes. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and loved going dancing, playing bingo and was always on the go.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Randy Smith and his wife, Nancy and a daughter, Rhonda Sue Brown and her husband, David; two sisters, Marie Bishop and Charlotte Newell; a brother, Barney Devine; three grandchildren, Todd Smith, Lea Ann Bedell and Courtney Renner and nine great-grandchildren, Austin Hatfield, Kylar Smith, Kade Smith, Kenzi Smith, Avery Bedell, Casey Bedell, Benton Renner, Brilye Renner and Bekah Renner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Rusty Smith and by three sisters, Lola Humphrey, Ruby Boggs and Sally Stone.
Services honoring Sue’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Kerr and Rev. Ken Stacey officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin.
