Sherry Lee (Williams) Harper, 73, a resident of Columbia, passed away peacefully at her home, on Thursday, August 17, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Sherry was born on February 17, 1950, in Charleston, Missouri, the daughter of Charles Ray Williams and Faye Ann McCutchen.
Sherry will be remembered for her large heart, large personality, and her love for her family. She loved decorating and has even been called “Martha Stewart’s Sister.” She loved all holidays and especially loved decorating her home from Christmas.
She will be sadly missed and forever remembered by two children, Ereka Cook Copeland and husband Craig of Columbia, and Repps Goodson of Springfield; six grandchildren, Conner Cook, Lauren Cook, Andrew Copeland, Olivia Copeland, Drake Goodson, and Tinsley A. Goodson; one great grandson, Aiden Derek Loza-Cook; two sisters, Carolyn Williams and husband Bob Pittman of Centralia and Debbie Cannon of Columbia; one brother, Darrell Jeffries and wife Lynda of Bellflower, Mo; three daughters-in-law, Lynne Gipson and husband Jim of Sikeston, Mo., Claudia Little and husband Joey of Clever, Mo., and Rebecca Standridge and husband Larry of Sikeston; Sherry is grandmother to Katey Wibbenmeyer and husband Justin and their children, Lane and Kyler; Hunter Gipson and wife Madison, Dawson Little, Harper Boswell and husband Will, and Wyatt Standridge.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Galen DeWitt Harper; one son, Derek Lee Cook; one sister, Kim Jeffries Day.
A memorial celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel with Pastor Greg Dickerman officiating. A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Columbia Cemetery.
