Shelia Kay (Moore) Skinner, 70, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Shelia was born on December 22, 1951, in Russell, Kansas, the daughter of Dean Moore and Arvilla Farthing Moore.
Shelia was a very bright light for everyone she met and always had a heart of gold. She was very generous as she would give her last to someone in need, even if she needed it herself. Shelia was the rock of her family, always keeping everyone together and making sure that they were taken care of and had a hot meal. She cherished every moment she was able to spend with her family. Shelia had a smile that you could see coming from a mile away. She was truly the best mother, grandma, and friend that anyone could ask for.
She will be greatly missed and forever remembered by two daughters, Arvilla “Dee” Johnson and companion John Thompson of Columbia and Samantha Rains and husband Jason of Leavenworth, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Chris Johnson Sr., Kaela Dysart, Shquall Johnson, Judges Rains, Jerichow Rains, Josiah Rains and Job Rains; eight great grandchildren, Nevaeh Morgan, Jordan Puckett, KeMaury Johnson, Chris Johnson Jr., Jeremiah Johnson, Koran Harris, Jordyn Rains and Judges Rains II; four sisters, Sandra Carter of Odessa, Texas, Sharon Benham of McKinney, Texas, Marilyn McCracken and Carolyn Sweeden, both of Odessa, Texas; best friend, Donald Deshazer of Macon, Missouri.
Sheila was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Gary Dale Moore and one sister, Sherry Taylor.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
