Sandra Eileen (Wiechert) Karas

Sandra Eileen (Wiechert) Karas, 65, of Columbia passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, at Boone Hospital Center.

Sandra was born on September 22, 1960, in Columbia, the daughter of Orville and Fannie Wiechert. On July 20, 1999, she married Garry Karas and he passed away on October 18, 2024.  Sandra graduated from Marshall High School and continued her education at Stephens College where she graduated with a degree in accounting with a minor in advertising.  She moved to Shreveport, Louisiana where she was offered a position in advertising.  Later moving to Kansas City, Missouri where she accepted a position as accountant with a trucking company. Sandra showed the American Saddle Bred horses her father raised, at the Missouri State Fair as well as other horse shows in Missouri.  When she was a junior in high school she went on a supervised trip to Europe with other students from other schools. In March 2024, Garry and Sandra moved to Columbia, Missouri. 

Sandra is survived by her mother, Fannie; sister, Lou Ann; nephews, Joe and his wife, Stephanie, Scott and his wife, Shawnta and her nieces, Leah and Sharlene; great nephews, Justin, Zain, Rylan, Lloyd, Braden and four great nieces, Hannah, Paige, Aurora and McKenzie.

Sandra was preceded him in death by her husband, father and nephew.
