Sandra Lee (Crawford) Highbarger

Sandra Lee Highbarger, 80, of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel with a visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. until time for the service.  Burial will follow the service at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Sandra was born October 29, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri, the only child of late Nelson and Allean (Moreau) Crawford.  She attended Columbia Public Schools and graduated from Hickman High School in 1960.  After graduation, she started working at State Farm Insurance and remained there, until her retirement with 45 years of service at their Regional Office. She dated and married her high school sweetheart, Wilbur W. Highbarger, Jr. (Dub) on May 5, 1962.  Celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary together this year.  The other loves of her life are her two sons, Gregory (Christee) of Leawood, Kansas and Jeffrey (Abbie) of Port Townsend, Washington.  She always loved attending and supporting all the adventures of her grandson, Ian and granddaughter, Payton.  After retirement, she and Dub did some traveling, enjoying several cruises and bus trips. Sandra was a member of the Community United Methodist Church. 

Even while struggling for several years with debilitating Alzheimers, she always had a smile on her face.
