Samuel Lee Coates

Samuel Lee Coates, 71, of Rocheport, MO passed away at his home on January 11, 2024.

He was born in Kansas City, MO on September 21, 1952, a son of Thomas and JoAnn (McBain) Coates.
Samuel served his nation in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  He worked in construction and painting. He enjoyed fishing, arrowhead hunting and loved animals.

Survivors include his daughter, Jodi (Eric) McSwain of Fayette; granddaughters, Erin and Jessamin McSwain; uncle, Pete (Susan) McBain; brother-in-law, Montie Conrow; sisters-in-law, Donna Coates and Barbara Coates; nieces, Melissa (Rodney) Anderton, Aaron (Chris) Baker, Heather Coates and Crystal Coates; nephews, Joshua Coates and Raymond Conrow and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Debbie Conrow; brothers, Mike and Larry Coates and an aunt, Dorothy Wyatt.

A Celebration of LIfe Gathering will be held from 1 to 3 PM on February 11, 2024 at the Eagles Lodge, 2513 N. Stadium Blvd., Columbia, MO 65202.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
