Ronald "Ronnie" Lee Nowlin Obituary

Ronald L. Nowlin, age 80, of Columbia, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at home surrounded by loved ones.


Ronnie was born on March 13, 1945, in Columbia, Missouri to Owen and Ina (Nichols) Nowlin. On May 28, 1976, he married Mary McGee from Holiday, Missouri.  He worked for the University of Missouri for many years before retiring in the summer of 2006 to help babysit his grandchildren.  Ronnie was an avid sports fan, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs each season.  Drawing was one of Ronnie’s largest hobbies, with art pieces ranging from still landscapes to portraits.  He loved his grandchildren more than anything and loved looking after them.


Ronnie is survived by his wife Mary; daughter, Mindy; sister, Karen Herigon and grandchildren, Alexandria, Layne, Malissa and Skylar. He was preceded in death by his parents Owen and Ina, daughter, Malissa and brothers, Dennis, Carl and Randy.


A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the Hallsville Community Development Association, 500 Hwy OO, Hallsville, Missouri.
