Robert "Bob" Floyd Wade

Robert “Bob” Wade, 86, of Columbia passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021.

 Bob was born on June 17, 1934 in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Floyd and Esther Matthews Wade.  On October 10, 1981 he married Norma Pini in Joliet, Illinois and she survives. Before entering the Army-Airborne in 1954, he attended Iowa State University for 2 years.  Upon completing his military service in 1956, he resumed his education at the University of Northern Illinois where he received his Bachelor of Music degree and later got his Masters Degree at Columbia University in New York City.

Bob is also survived by three daughters, Sarah (John) Zaleski of Westmont, Illinois;  Katheryn (Scott) Christensen of Rocheport and Elizabeth Pini (Wayne Brotherton) of Rocheport; two grandchildren, Kenneth (Jennifer) Sterka of Brookfield, Illinois and April (Steven) Difatta of Addison, Illinois and a great grandson, Gavin Sterka.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Cynthia Sterka; son, David Wade and brother, Rodney Wade.

In accordance with Bob’s wishes no services will be held.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice.
