Robert Huston Jett, Sr.

Robert H. Jett, Sr., 85, of Columbia passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, at Boone Hospital Center.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel.  The family will receive friends at a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Military Honors will follow the service.    

Mr. Jett was born on September 11, 1940, in Terra Haute, Indiana, a son of the late Robert E. Jett and Ruth (McGaughey) Jett. On May 28, 1982, he married Celesta Thralls  in Columbia, and they were married for 43 years.  Robert served his country for 6 years in the U. S, Navy. Robert retired from GTE as installation/repairman after 33 years.  He was involved with the CERT program with the City of Columbia, was a weather spotter and ham radio operator.  He was loved by his family as a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by two sons, Robert H. Jett, Jr. (Recca) and Raymond Jett (Robin); three daughters Juanita Winegar, Julie Powers (Terry), Janice Henry (Jeff), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and a couple of great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, his daughter, Adlena Jean Jett preceded him in death.
