Randall Wayne “Randy/Hoot” Hooton, 77, of New Franklin, Missouri passed away at his home on October 10, 2024.
He was born on March 10, 1947, in South Bend, Indiana, a son of Robert and Gladys Miller Hooton. He served his nation in the US Army from 1967 to 1971 during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sargent E-5. Randy married Sharon Thomas in 1980. She survives at their home.
Randy was a self-employed carpenter operating his business as Hooton Carpentry. He enjoyed his family, playing cards, hunting and fishing.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sharon; his children, Robert Hooton of Lees Summit, Missouri, Deborah Rhodes of New Franklin and Angela Simons of Ashland, Missouri; two brothers, Russell and William Hooton; a sister, Katherine Edwards; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda McClung.
Services with military honors to honor Randy will be scheduled later at the Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri.
