Perry Dean Morgan, 94, of Columbia passed peacefully in his sleep at home on November 15, 2025.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 24, 2025. Visitation will precede the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery will follow the funeral service. Perry was born in Imboden, Arkansas on May 21, 1931, to George Edward and Maybel Lanelle Morgan, who preceded him in death. After graduating from Mountain Grove High School in Mountain Grove, MO, Perry served in the Air Force where he played the euphonium in the Air Force Band. Following his service, Perry attended Pepperdine College, Malibu, CA and graduated from Westmont College, Santa Barbara, CA. He received his Master of Science-Social Work from the University of Missouri, Columbia, in 1969. Perry worked at Fulton State Hospital for 30 years, and was the Director of the Community Placement program when he retired.
On June 24, 1961 Perry married Geneen Roberta Cassens in St. Louis, MO. Perry was a member of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church and an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and Mizzou Tigers fan. He was also a founding member of the Columbia Community Band. He and Geneen instilled the love of music in their daughters and grandchildren.
Perry is survived by his two daughters, Lisa Lanelle Honz (Robert) and Michelle Deanne Morgan (Billy Fisher) all of St. Louis; three grandchildren, Rachel Honz Rebischke (Sean), Lauren Honz Romano (Nicholas), and Kevin Morgan Honz; and two great grandchildren, Michael Sean Rebischke and Edmund Morgan Rebischke.
Perry was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Geneen. He was also preceded in death by his siblings: Wanda Jean Brown, Edward Morgan, Anna Marie Lawrence, Georgia Mae Cheon, and Sloan Morgan.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Columbia Community Band, Meals on Wheels of Columbia, or St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church.
