Patricia "Patty" Rose Ballew, 78, of Hallsville, Missouri lost her lengthy battle with cancer on Thursday, October 5, 2023, in Moberly, Missouri.
Patty was born September 26, 1945, in Boonville, Missouri, daughter of Marcellus Caesar "Big Boy" and Frankie Irene (Ward) Wilborn. Pat played basketball as a New Franklin Bulldog and was homecoming queen her senior year. She held many jobs from sewing sleeping bags at Hawthorne in Glasgow, MO, to bookkeeping, farming, homemaking, waitressing, facility operations at the University of Missouri, and bartending. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandchildren, camping and traveling in her younger years, embroidering, painting, gardening, and listening to music. As a two-time breast cancer survivor, Pat fought a good fight, and she will forever be in our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcellus, and Frankie Irene Wilborn; husband, Billy Ballew; brothers Tom, Bob, and Richard Wilborn; sisters Virginia Huffman, Judy Little, Katie Pogue-Harvey and Cleo Venable, her infant twin, and an infant son. Pat is survived by her daughter, Tammy Calcote (Ralph), her son, James Storms (Lori), grandchildren, Sydney Storms, Taden Storms, William Calcote, Kelsey Calcote, and Bruce Calcote and many nieces and nephews.
A private family graveside service will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Clarks Chapel Cemetery in Franklin, Missouri.
