Mrs. Mona Lee McGinnis, age 94, beloved wife of the late Lawrence Murrell McGinnis, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at her residence.

Funeral services, under the care of Platts Funeral Home,  will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Christ The King Lutheran Church with Pastor David Keener and Pastor Amy Carpenter officiating. Family and friends can pay their respects on Friday, March 3 at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Burial, under the care of Markland-Yager Funeral Home of New Franklin, MO, will be at Pleasant Grove Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Wooldridge, Missouri on Thursday, March 9 at 10:00 AM.

Mona Lee was born in Independence, Missouri on January 24, 1929 to Pearl Edward Stone and Elmira Wilamina Jung. She married Lawrence McGinnis and started a family. After he passed away, she moved to Georgia to live with her daughter and her family. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her children, Lawrence Murrell McGinnis, Jr. (Diane) and Brenda Lee Gourley (Curtis), and her grandchildren; Amy Brooke Patten, Jessika Lauren Mason, Joseph Micah Gourley, Nathaniel John Gourley, Ezra Jeremiah Gourley, Joannah Ruth Gourley, Jannah Lee Gourley and Joshua Murrell Gourley, as well as six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, and her daughter, Deanna Lynn Rupp.
