Minert “Bud” John Zuidema Jr., 71, passed away on January 16, 2024. Bud was born on November 1, 1952, the son of the late Minert John Zuidema Sr. and Adrienne Marie Zuidema in Worth, Illinois. He moved to Naples, Florida in 1973 where he met and married Gail Ann Page in January 1975. While in Naples/Bonita Springs he became a successful general contractor, starting Zuidema Construction Company. He was an avid scuba diver and loved to share his passion with others. Bud retired in 2002 and moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas and then eventually to Columbia, Missouri to be close to his grandchildren. He loved all animals (especially dogs), but most of all he loved his family and spending time with them. He always rooted for the underdog, gave generously but anonymously and never shied away from fighting for what he thought was right.

Bud is survived by his wife, Gail Zuidema; two sons, Dr. Aaron David Zuidema (Mozow) and Andrew James Zuidema; two grandchildren, Alexander Jason Zuidema and Marjorie Abigail Zuidema and three sisters, Sherene Fetch, Deborah Porter (Chuck) and Sandra Zuidema (Rob Kegley).

A Celebration of Life Service is planned for 3:00 PM, January 27, 2024, at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel. A gathering of family and friends will be from 2:00 until the time for the service.
