Marcia Eliss (Foland) Lyon

Marcia Eliss Lyon, 63, of Armstrong passed away caring for others, the result of a tragic fire at the Perkins Home in Fayette, on January 27, 2026.

Marcia was born on February 24, 1962, in St. Louis a daughter of Novy Elbert Foland and Mary Ellen Kohl Foland.  She married Greg Lyon on August 8, 1981.  Greg survives at their home.

Marcia had a generous heart.  She loved serving others for over twenty years as a caregiver at the Perkins Home and as a rural mail carrier and had also been employed with Endless Options. Marcia was known for helping and loving others – especially the elderly, individuals with special needs and children.  She enjoyed seeing everyone while delivering mail, especially the kids. Marcia enjoyed taking her clients to family functions and local events, they were really like her family.

She was a 4-H Project Leader helping her kids and other young people with their 4-H projects and the county fair.  She also helped coach her kids in Little League.  She enjoyed baking and sharing her time with those that needed someone to lean on.  

Marcia loved helping with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.  She was known for buying presents all year long for the Fayette Holiday House and was always willing to lend a helping hand at the food pantry.  She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in rural Fayette where she helped with different events and activities.  

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Greg; her father, Novy Elbert Foland; her children, Shauna Lyon, Jenna Cassatt (Terry), Travis Lyon (Heather), Garret Lyon (Risha) and Zachary Olson (Alecia); her grandchildren, Zane Rice, Brady Lyon, Kaden Lyon, Harlee Cassatt, Presleigh Cassatt, Rylea Cassatt, Kiley Cassatt, Danielle Olson, Zander Olson and Rayden Alberson; her siblings, Michelle “Micki” Foland and Novy Foland (Mickie); her father-in-law, George “Tommy” Lyon; nieces and nephews; many friends and “Uncle” Steve Holman..

Marcia was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ellen Foland and her mother-in-law, Naomi Lyon; several grandparents; aunts, uncles and a niece Shar Marie Foland.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, February 6, 2026, at Faith Family Church in Fayette.  Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Fayette Holiday House or the Fayette Food Pantry.
