Marcella Dawn Newell-Hicks, 41, of Ashland, MO passed away November 12, 2022.  She was born in Columbia on December 17, 1980.

Marcella had a green thumb and enjoyed caring for her plants.  She loved animals especially her pet pig, Pork Chop and her dog, McKenzie.  She loved eating – favorites included chocolate milk and pickles.  Marcella’s other favorite activities were thrift store shopping and spending time with her family and friends.

Those cherishing her memory include a son, Ethan Lammers (Reagan Sanders) of Ashland; mother, Diana McGee Farrar (Terry) of Ashland; father, Derril Wayne Newell of Mexico; grandmother, Arlene McGee (Eldon Smith) of Boonville; step-son, Dakota Hicks of Mexico; step-daughter, Cheyenne Hicks of Mexico; sisters, Melissa Rice of Columbia and Miranda Brauer of Syracuse; half-sisters, Jennifer Newell of and Gerri Murphy; half-brothers, Darrell Newell, Travis Newell and Jonathon Newell all of Mexico; step-brothers, Jason Farrar of Centralia and Justin Farrar of Ashland and many friends and other relatives.

A Celebration of Life honoring Marcella will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 17 at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel in Columbia.  The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
