Louis Robert Morgensen

Louis Robert Morgensen, 99, of Columbia fell asleep in the Lord on Friday, May 21, 2021.

Louis was born October 4, 1921, in White Cloud, Michigan, the son of Thorvald and Esta Jensen Morgensen.   Louis served in the Army Air Corp during World War II at Pearl Harbour and Christmas Island, where he was a belly gunner instructor.   He married Jean Oglesby in 1947 in Sawyer, Michigan.  He fellowshipped with The Way International.  Louis owned and operated his own jewelry store, as well as doing watch and clock repair. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, deer and pheasant.  He enjoyed gardening and always produced an abundance to share with family and friends.

Louis is survived by his sons, Phillip (Cyndee) of Columbia and Robert (Gayle) of Rockford, Michigan; six grandchildren, Michael, John, Cammy, Justin, Nichole, Brent; and eleven great grandchildren.

Louis was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two sisters, Amelia Johnson and Emma Fox, and granddaughter, Andrea.

A Recognition Service will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel.  Visitation for family and friends will be at 2:00 p.m. until time for the service.
