Lois Mae (Purvis) Miller, 83, of Franklin passed away June 28, 2026, at the University of Missouri Hospital.

Lois was born in Franklin on June 22, 1943, a daughter of William and Lois Trout Purvis.  She married Larry Miller on June 25, 1960, having 66 years of loving companionship.

Lois was a member of the Friendship Foursquare Church in New Franklin.  She enjoyed playing cards and puzzling.  Her family especially remembers her Hedgehog and Cherry Wink Cookies at Christmas.  Professionally, Lois was employed with State Farm Insurance for 40 years in the accounting department from 1961 until her retirement in 2002.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Larry Miller; her son, Bruce Miller (Cynthia); siblings, Elwood Purvis (Annette), Evelyn Dougherty (Zed), Wayne Purvis (Judy), Dale Purvis and David Purvis (Beverly); grandchildren, Victoria Southworth (Marc) and Kristle Lee Miller (Scott Henderson); her great-grandchildren, Sarai Southworth, Sophia Gongora, Keilah Southworth and Levi Southworth; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a great-granddaughter, MacKenzie Gongora.

Services honoring Lois’ life will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin.  Visitation will be held Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Lois will be buried at Clarks Chapel Cemetery following the funeral service.
