Leroy A. Moore Sr.,71, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Boone Hospital Center. 

Leroy was born on October 2, 1950, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Arnold Moore and Fern Hinkle Moore. On October 17, 1974, in Orrick, Missouri he married Susan Cook, and she survives of the home. 

Leroy had a true passion for driving trucks and began his driving career as an over the road trucker, but as his children got older, he enjoyed being home and started driving dump trucks. He spent almost 50 years driving trucks, finally retiring in May of 2021. He loved his children and grandchildren and cherished every opportunity he was able to spend with them. In his down time, he enjoyed sitting down watching a good western on tv.

He will be greatly missed and forever remembered by his wife Susan Cook Moore; three children, Leroy Moore Jr. and wife Hope of Harrisburg, Chris Moore of Columbia, and Mike Moore and companion Jackie of Sturgeon; eight grandchildren, Erin Tolbert and husband Justin, Erika Moore, Derrick Moore, Mikayla Moore, Anthony Knight, Myah Lewis, Kayli Lewis, and Faith Lewis; five great grandchildren, Bailee, Hudson, Leroy, Stella, and Isabelle; three brothers, Max Moore and wife Patty of Ashland, Warren Moore of Fayette, and Tim Moore of Mexico. 

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers and three sisters. 

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel with a visitation being held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
