Larry Whitmarsh Obituary

Larry Joe Whitmarsh, 79, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away on May 5, 2026.

He was born on February 14, 1947, in Randolph County, Missouri, to Alfred and Laura (Calvert) Whitmarsh. Larry worked as a dedicated heating and air conditioning technician and was known as a true jack of all trades. He had a remarkable knack for fixing just about anything and was often called upon for his knowledge and skill. Larry enjoyed problem-solving and took pride in his work. In his free time, Larry loved hunting and fishing, as well as spending time with family playing card games. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature, and the joy he found in simple moments shared with those he loved.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Rosemary (Moore)Whitmarsh; his daughter, Lora Curry and her spouse Quentin; his cherished grandchildren children, Larry D. Whitmarsh Jr., Kristina Whitmarsh, Dustin Whitmarsh, Cole Curry (Meghan), Katherine Curry and a sister, Beverly Bennett. He was preceded in death by his son and best friend, Larry D. Whitmarsh Sr. Four brothers and four sisters.

A celebration of life will be held on May 23rd from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at New Providence Baptist Church, 4641 N Route E, Columbia, Missouri. Family and friends are invited to come together to share memories, enjoy a meal, and play a card game or two in honor of Larry’s life. Larry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
