Larry Hager Obituary

“He was a man, take him for all in all; I shall not look upon his like again.” -Shakespeare

On Wednesday, July 6th, 2022, Larry Dean Hager, 57, passed away in Hallsville, MO. He was born February 11th, 1965 in Wichita, KS, the beloved son of Larry D Hager and Glenna Catherine Feurs. Join us at his send-off on September 2nd at 6:30pm at the south end of Cooper’s Landing with fireworks at dark.

Larry Dean Hager was a great man alongside whom it was an honor to work. His work ethic and knowledge, which made him very sought after, were respected by all who knew him. He loved to build and see the work to fruition. Tireless, Larry made things look effortless as his 40-year experience in construction allowed him to quickly navigate any challenge.

A principled man, Larry was a patriot who dearly loved his country. July 4th was one of his favorite time of the year as, every year, he’d invite family and friends over and proudly display his vast array of fireworks. Such times permitted Larry to showcase what he values most: loyalty, honesty and fair treatment for all.

When he was not busy at work, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife, Stacy, whom he married on December 18th, 1993. Every week, he looked forward to their Thursday date nights. Together, they enjoyed caring for their farm surrounded by their precious highland cattle whose names all begin with an H. Larry’s humanity came through his love of animals. He was a gentle man.

As an avid mushroom hunter, he treasured his time in nature searching for and finding them. Whether fishing or boating, Larry loved being outdoors.

Larry was also a food lover. “Wow! That some good eating!” was his favorite saying.

Larry Dean Hager will forever be remembered for his easygoing demeanor, his dependability and willingness to help. He left his mark in many hearts and in many parts of Columbia.

Larry Hager is survived by his wife, Stacy, his mother, Glenna Lawson, his sisters Dee Elder and Paula Murphy, his brother Chris Hager and numerous nephews and nieces.
