Kenneth Mason Obituary

Kenneth C. Mason, 79, a resident of Fulton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Kenneth was born on May 5, 1943, in Columbia, the son of Maurice Mason and Nadine Goff Farrah. On September 4, 1987, in Boonville, Missouri, he married Wendy Upton, and she survives of the home.

Kenneth worked in the grounds department for the University of Missouri for 35 years and after retirement he and his wife owned and operated K&W Lawn Service for 20 years. When he wasn’t working, he could often be found outside in the woods hunting. He especially enjoyed deer hunting and was always up for a good camping trip. He was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. Kenneth enjoyed reading his Bible and would always want to discuss the Bible with others and speak life into them. Kenneth has been a faithful member of Columbia First Assembly since 2011. Family was important to Kenneth, and he cherished every moment he was able to spend with his family. Kenneth enjoyed sitting and watching movies, with westerns and sci-fi being his favorites.

He will be greatly missed and forever remembered by his wife Wendy Upton Mason; four children, Julia Parker and husband Jeff of Bunker, Missouri, Scott Mason and wife Libby of Columbia, Mason Upton of Columbia, and Angel Roberts of Shelbyville, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Brittany Heidbrink, Justin Parker, Devin Mason, and Sydney McQueary; five great grandchildren, Coulby, Preston, Phillip, Titus, and Zipporah; four siblings, Everett Farrah of Mexico, Missouri, Judy Holley and husband John, Gary Mason, and Bonnie Mason, all of Columbia.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Shirley Acton.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on September 8, 2022, at Columbia First Assembly, 1100 N. 7th St. Columbia, MO 65201, with Pastor Tracy Cook and Pastor Jeremy Risner officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
