Katherine "Kathy" Sue (Van Kirk) Creason

Katherine Sue Creason, of Columbia, passed away on February 19, 2025, at Boone Hospital Center.

Kathy was born on June 30, 1952, to the late Benjamin and Ruby (Pauley) Van Kirk in Columbia. She was a graduate of Hickman High School, Columbia.  On June 5, 1970, she married Bo Creason in Columbia, and he preceded her in death on August 23, 2024.

Kathy was a school bus driver for Columbia Public Schools for over 20 years.  You could find her next to Bo at a racetrack or ball field.  Kathy’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and cheering them on in all their sports.  Kathy had a heart of gold, she loved and accepted all.

She is survived by her three children, Patty, Christy (Kim), and Rusty (Jennifer); ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren.  She also leaves behind many-many special friends that knew her as Grandma Kathy, Mama Kathy, or Aunt Kathy.

The Funeral Service is Monday, February 24, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel, 1610 N. Garth Ave., Columbia,  MO.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time for the service at 1 PM. The burial will follow the service at Memorial Park Cemetery.
