Justin Skultka Obituary

Justin Wayne Skultka, beloved husband, father, son, and friend, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 40, leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and boundless generosity. He departed from this world on February 23, 2024, leaving a profound void in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Justin was born on April 25, 1983, in Sitka, Alaska to Charles, Jr. and Tane (Michaud) Skultka. He moved to Columbia, MO and married Amanda Burkholder on May 19, 2018.

Justin is survived by his wife Amanda; son Zackary Brice, parents Charlie & Tane Skultka; grandfathers Charles Skultka Sr., and John Laverdure, grandma Charlene Cantiberos, uncle Todd (Lisa) Michaud and Cory, aunt Christine Thomas and Jennifer; aunt Susan Schmidt, uncle Gary Hoaxie, aunts Kendra Skultka and Amanda Skultka, uncle David Skultka, aunt Holly Laverdure and uncle Donald Laverdure. He is also survived by many cousins, and beloved pets Beau, Bella, Mitsy and Missy.

Justin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Bruce & Maxine Michaud; paternal grandma Donna Laverdure, grandmother Leona Skultka and his best friends Flash and Lucky.

Born with an enthusiasm for life, Justin lived each day with an infectious energy that touched the hearts of everyone he encountered. His passion for adventure led him to embrace the thrills of the snow and the water, where he could snowboard down the mountain, only to climb to the peak of the next one, or by searching high and low for a cliff to jump off. He found his peace, freedom and exhilaration in nature.

Professionally, Justin excelled in the field of construction, where his skillful craftsmanship and dedication were evident in every project he undertook. His commitment to his work was matched only by his dedication to his family, whom he loved greatly.  A true animal lover, Justin found companionship and joy in the company of his dogs, who brought happiness and comfort to his life.

In his free time, Justin embraced his love for skateboarding, traveling, being a social media influencer, videography, and learning anything new. Beyond his personal pursuits, Justin found fulfillment in teaching and sharing his knowledge with others. His generosity knew no bounds, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by his kindness and selflessness.

Justin will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration, reminding us to embrace life with the same fervor, generosity, and love that defined his remarkable journey.

In honor of Justin’s sobriety and dedication to helping others, donations can be made to Adult and Teen Challenge, Wasilla, AK. A celebration of his life will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel in Columbia, MO, where friends and loved ones will gather at 3:00 p.m.to pay tribute to a remarkable man whose legacy will endure for generations to come.
