Judith Marie (Whitaker) Smith

Judith Marie Smith, 88, of Columbia, Missouri went home to be with her Lord on July 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel.  The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Baptist Church. Burial at Memorial Park Cemetery will follow the service.

Judith was born June 4, 1937, in Salem, Missouri to the late Vernon and Marie (Bryson) Whitaker. On December 26, 1955, she married Ed Smith in Salem, Missouri. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and served the church in many capacities over her 63+ years as a member there.  In addition to wonderful wife and mother, she was librarian at Benton Elementary School for 29 years.  Judith enjoyed traveling, especially in Colorado, and after retirement spent winters in Florida for many years.  Her favorite thing was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Ed; daughter, Cindy (Steve); brother, Joe (Ruth); five grandchildren, Mallory, Joel, Justin, Kalie, Aaron; seven great grandchildren; and many other extended family members.  She is loved and will be missed by many.

Judith was preceded in death by her daughter, Christa Schilb.
