Judith Creasy Obituary

Judith (Judy) Ann Creasy, 85, Columbia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 11, 2022.

A visitation will be held from 12:30-2:30 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2022, at First Christian Church, 101 N 10th St, Columbia.   A graveside service will follow the visitation at 2:45 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Judy was born July 10, 1937, in Columbia to the late Cecil and Julia (Hoffman) Jacob.  She was employed for more than 20 years with Columbia College.  She graduated from Hickman high school in 1955, then also graduated from Christian College and the University of Missouri. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church.

Judy's focus in life was always family. It began as the youngest of four children. She was the baby of the family in every way. Judy was remarkably close with her mother, Julia, until her passing. Judy had five children of her own over nearly fourteen years. They were the true joy of her life. The grandchildren were icing on the cake.
Judy was an avid reader and quite a creative writer. Seldom a family birthday went by without a poetic card from Judy. She had a love of dogs and a knack for spoiling them that has been passed down in the family. Years were spent on genealogy research, crocheting afgans and producing beautiful quilts. She enjoyed classic movies and musicals immensely. And for many years her flower beds were the envy of all her neighbors.

Judy was a fun, funny, spirited, often opinionated person. She was generous and selfless. If you knew her you liked her. If you knew her well you loved her.
She will be sorely missed.

Judy is survived by her children, Ted Creasy, Jay Creasy (Chris), Julie Nichols (David), Cindy Ruffolo, and Jeff Creasy (Lottie); sister, Virginia Itschner of Columbia; thirteen grandchildren, Laurel, Hiliary, Teddy, Drew, Lexie, Jake, Jeff, Jack, Sam, Zac, Ben, Abe, Max; and four great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Roy Jacob and Jimmy Jacob.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or  St. Jude Children's Research Hospital,  c/o Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel, 1610 N. Garth Ave, Columbia, MO 65202.
