John Charles Feroe

   John Charles Feroe, 76, of Columbia, went home to be with the Lord on May 1, 2024,  surrounded by his loving family.

  Friends and family will be received on Monday, May 6, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Bible Church. Burial will follow the service at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Columbia.

  John was born November 15, 1947, in Seattle, Washington, to the late Paul and Marian (Braunn) Feroe.  On February 28, 1976, he married Lyn Chaney in Hickory, Mississippi.  He was a member of Grace Bible Church in Columbia. A graduate of The University of Washington, he was a metallurgical engineer and served as Vice President of Quality for Amstead Rail in Granite City, IL. After retirement he found happiness in many hobbies including painting, writing, and studying the Greek translation of the Bible. Additionally, he began a new career in agricultural research and development, founding Feroe Farms, of which he was wildly successful in producing fruits and vegetables for the community. I say community loosely, because sometimes success was measured by the amount of animals that benefited from his excellent vegetation as well as those receiving the bountiful plants and produce. Outside of his hobbies being a faithful servant for the Lord was his main focus. He was dedicated to the mission field even hosting missionaries in his home and was always giving to support missionaries abroad.  

   John is survived by his wife, Lyn; two daughters, Tracey (Ben) Johnson and Jill (Bill) Cappel; sister, Jane (Mike) Thompson; and six grandchildren, Phoebe Johnson, Lynlee Cappel, Eloise Johnson, Wallace Johnson, Maggie Cappel and Brody Cappel.

   In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Grace Bible Church Mission Fund, African Vision of Hope or The Gideons International, c/o Grace Bible Church, 601 Blue Ridge Road, Columbia, MO 65202.
