Jerry Wayne Adams, Sr.
1938 – 2019
Jerry Wayne Adams, Sr., 81, of Armstrong, passed away January 3, 2020 at his home.
Jerry was born in Armstrong on July 3, 1938 a son of Edward Glenwood Adams and Cora Pauline Harmon Adams.
Mr. Adams was a U.S. Army veteran and prior to retirement was employed with American Recreation Company in Glasgow. He was blind, due to Retinitis Pigmentosa, for many years but he was determined to be employed and enjoyed hobbies including wood working and fishing. He loved animals and was a frequent caller to KWIX-KRES Radio trivia call in shows.
Jerry showed unconditional love to his family. Surviving family members include two sons, Jerry Wayne Adams, Jr. and wife, Sharon and Robert Dean Adams and wife, Vicki; three daughters, Tammy Gay Chandler, Jacqueline Forsee and husband, Eddie and Scarlett Rachel Adams; a brother, Benny Lee Adams and two sisters, Glenda Kay Madaus and Lora Karen Elliot and by seventeen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his caregiver and friend, Arletha “Ms. Lee” Parker.
Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Danny Lee Adams; two brothers, Charles Edward Adams and Tommy Dale Adams; a grandson, Derek Barney and his former wife, Carolyn Ruth Polson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Carr-Yager Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Howell officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
