Jamie Leonard Jaegars, 45, of Fayette passed away unexpectedly on February 8, 2025.
Jamie was born in St. Louis on September 2, 1979, a son of Frank and Ruth Robbins Jaegars. He had been a resident of the Braun Home in Fayette. Jamie had a gift for gab and would talk non-stop for hours and you would never know what he was going to say. If he wasn’t talking, he was singing. His love for music ranged from country to classics to rap. He was considered legally blind, and he was in a wheelchair, but there was nothing he couldn’t do. He enjoyed playing with his x-box and playing cards with his housemate Stephen and his caregivers. Jamie loved playing bingo on Thursdays and was always one number away from winning the billion-dollar pot. He enjoyed helping around the house. His favorite chore was putting the trash on his lap and rolling down the ramp yelling “Weee” then taking it across the street to put it in the trash can. Jamie was the most loving and unique person anyone could ever meet. He enjoyed car rides and going on trips. Staff was able to take him to St. Louis to put flowers on his parent’s and brother’s graves. It meant so much for him to be able to honor them. Jamie would also try to buy staff things with his limited funds. The staff would always tell him no and to get something for himself that he wanted. He would always say it was his money, and he would buy something for the staff if he wanted to. Jamie had a good sense of humor; he would tell everyone he was a State Patrol officer and read people their rights regardless if they were the washer repairman or his dentist – while trying to work on him! Jamie’s love for those he knew was bigger than life.
Jamie was tragically preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ruth Jaegars; his brother Frank “Pee Wee” Jaegars and his sister, Angela Moore.
He is survived by his friends and caregivers at the Braun Home.
A memorial service celebrating Jamie’s life will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Carr-Yager Funeral Home in Fayette with Rev. Harold Young officiating.
Carr-Yager Funeral Home is honored to help celebrate Jamie’s life.
