James Wesley Cawthon

James Wesley Cawthon, 64, peacefully passed away on December 19, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. 

Jim was the 8th child born to the late Orville “Bob” and Bonita “Bonnie” (Hackworth) Cawthon in  Independence, Missouri, on August 25, 1960. 

Jim was an avid collector of old toys, outdoors man and loved fishing most of all, spending his later years caring for and creating wonderful loving memories with his many grandchildren. James will be missed by his community as he was well known around Mexico, Mo where he lived for last 16 years as being a kind loving soul often helping others in their time of need. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Bonita; brothers, Kenneth and Robert and sisters, Amy and Elaine. 

Jim is survived by his life partner, Zelda White, daughters, Sarah Hunter (Shawn) and Debra Cawthon; siblings, John Cawthon, Donna Sue Smith, Bonnie Bonnedit, Melindia Wolf, Cindy Pummill; nephew, Clay Pummill and numerous grandchildren. 

A Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
