Gene Donald Frohoff

Gene Donald Frohoff, 65, of Columbia passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021, surrounded by his family at the University of Missouri Hospital.  

Due to Covid concerns and general safety a private remembrance will be held at a later time.  

Gene was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 17, 1955, the son of Donald Arthur Frohoff and Lillian (Roderique) Frohoff. Gene was united in marriage to the love of his life Regina Joyce (Maciejewski) Frohoff on November 25, 1977. Gene loved serving for his Country. He did so by serving in the United States Army. He was an EMT who managed the Camdenton Ambulance Service.  For many years he was on the Mid County Fire Department, and worked as a prison guard in Jefferson City, Missouri. For over half of his life Gene served as a truck driver. Truck driving was Gene’s passion, he got to take his son Michael with him on numerous trips and he loved being able to make memories with his son.  

Gene was full of life and always made sure to live life to the fullest. He enjoyed travelling, swimming, scrapbooking, and playing cards with his family and friends. He had a kind heart, a great sense of humor, and he loved to laugh. Gene was the life of the party; he constantly made jokes and always knew how to make someone feel better if they were down. He enjoyed spending time with his many friends and family playing hand and foot. He was particularly fond of his grandchildren and greatly enjoyed visiting with them, taking them to new places, and watching them grow. Regardless of the challenges he encountered in his life, he was unfailingly optimistic and joyful and served as a role model for others who experienced loss. 

Gene is survived by his wife: Regina; their children: Michael Frohoff and his wife Danielle Frohoff; Denisea (Frohoff) Stradt and her husband Davis Stradt; his Grandchildren: Ashley Frohoff; William Stradt; Caleb Chipman; Tyler Stradt and his wife Brooke Stradt. Gene was preceded in death by his parents: Donald Arthur Frohoff and Lillian (Roderique) Frohoff; as well as Joyce (Maciejewski) Gregory and Jerome (Jerry) Maciejewski.
