1954 – 2022

 

Gary Wayne Hoard, 68, of Fayette, passed away at Bridgeway Assisted Living in Fulton on June 2, 2022 after a lengthy illness.

 

Gary was born in Moberly, MO on May 7, 1954 a son of Elbert Robert and Dorothy June Mead Hoard.  He was a graduate of Fayette High School where he was on the track team.  Following high school Gary attended college in Springfield, MO where he studied art.  He liked traveling and was a wandering spirit.  He enjoyed playing pitch and deer hunting.  In the past, Gary was employed with Randolph County Foundation and was a member of the Fayette First Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy June Hoard of Fayette; three brothers, Larry Hoard and wife, Joanne of Fulton, James Hoard and wife, Debbie of Detroit Lakes, MN and Dr. Michael Hoard of Phoenix, AZ; a sister, Karla Huebert and husband, Gerald of Bluffton, SC; an uncle, C.G. Mead of Columbia; an aunt, Evelyn Hoard of Washington state and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Elbert Hoard.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 8, at Carr-Yager Funeral Home in Fayette with Rev. Mike Jackman officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

 

Burial will be at a later date at New Hope Cemetery.
