Garry Dene Karas

Garry Dene Karas, 72, peacefully passed away on October 18, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Marshall, Missouri.

Garry was born July 17, 1952, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to the late Lewis and Lois (Davids) Karas.  On July 20, 1999, he married Sandra Wiechert in Parkville, Missouri.  Garry faithfully served his country in the U.S. Air Force.  He was employed as a forklift operator for over 10 years with the Ford Motor Company in Claycomo, Missouri.  He enjoyed following auto racing whether it was NHRA or NASCAR.

Garry is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; his children, Dan Karas and Michael Karas (Brandi); his twin brother, Larry Karas (Chilia), sister, Vicky Kirkendale, brothers, Terry Karas and Jeff Smith; and four grandchildren.  

Garry was also preceded by a brother, Jim Karas.
