Elodean “Dean” Dougherty

Elodean “Dean” Dougherty, longtime Fayette resident, passed away February 20, 2023, at Glasgow Gardens in Glasgow, MO.

Dean was born in Joker, West Virginia, a daughter of James and Ruby Huss Kerby.  On October 15, 1949, she married Kenneth Allen Dougherty.  He preceded her in death on December 22, 2004.  She was employed as a line supervisor at National Garment Company and also as a farmer’s wife.  Dean especially enjoyed going to sales and fixing up her purchases to have at the yard sales she hosted for many years.  Other favorite activities included feeding the birds in her yard and watching RFD TV in the evenings. 

She is survived by her son, William Allen Dougherty of Moberly.  In addition to her husband, Dean was preceded in death by a grandson, Bradley Allen Dougherty and by three sisters, Geneva Davis, Genevieve Bias and Evelyn Webster.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Carr-Yager Funeral Home in Fayette with Chaplain Jim Tsapelas officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Inurnment will follow the service at the Fayette City Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
