Earlene Hilden

1933 – 2022

 

Betty “Earlene” Hilden, 88, of Boonville passed away January 3, 2022 at Boone Health in Columbia.

 

Earlene was born on August 6, 1933 in Cooper County, Missouri, the daughter of Lewis and Sophia Torbeck Schupp.  She was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Boonville.  As a young woman, she was employed with South Western Bell and A.B. Hirsch Drug Store both in Boonville.  Earlene enjoyed watching birds, especially blue birds and humming birds.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Bernita (Danny) Bright of Boonville; grandchildren, Debbie (Anthony) Cochrane of San Diego, CA and Nathan Bright of Mesa, AZ.  Other survivors include nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Earlene was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ralph Schupp.

 

Services honoring Earlene’s life will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home, 3855 Hwy. 5 North, in New Franklin with Pastor Randy Richards officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

 

Burial will follow at St. Paul’s UCC Cemetery in Pilot Grove, MO.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or the St. Paul’s UCC Cemetery Association.
