Dorothy (Christner) Bryson

Dorothy H. Bryson, 90, formerly of Boonville passed away May 23, 2024, at Boone Hospital Center.

Dorothy was born in Fayette on October 11, 1933, a daughter of Theodore and Opal Wells Christner.  She married Wayne Bryson on March 29, 1952.  Wayne preceded her in death on March 6, 2012.

Mrs. Bryson was a 65-year member of Bible Baptist Church in New Franklin where she taught Bible School and various Sunday School Classes, served as Ladies’ Group President and was active in the Prime Timer’s Senior Adult Group at the church.  She also used her culinary gifts to serve as a cook at the Way of the Cross Bible Camp.

In addition to her dedication to service at church, Dorothy loved and was loved by her family and enjoyed reading, vegetable and flower gardening and cooking.

Survivors include her daughters, Devonna (Robert) Adams and Vickie (Mike) Corkran; a sister, Donna (Doc) Beaman; grandchildren, Heidi (Donnie) Parrott, Lincoln (Bethanie) Pratt, Jennifer Corkran and Phillip Corkran; great-grandchildren, Ethan Parrott, Keagan Parrott, Sydnee Moye and Gavril Pratt and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, May 28 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin.  A funeral service honoring her life will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 29, at Bible Baptist Church in New Franklin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Bible Baptist Church.
