Doris Elizabeth (Hill) Smith

Doris Elizbeth Smith, 94, of Fayette passed away December 20, 2025, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

Doris was born in Woodlandville, MO on August 6, 1931, a daughter of Virgil and Beulah Trimble Hill.  She married Lowell W. Smith on May 3, 1951, and he survives at their home.  Doris had formerly attended First Baptist Church, Faith Family and Grace Fellowship all in Fayette.  She loved farm life and being a mother.  Her favorite activities included counted cross stitch, knitting and sewing.  She made much of the clothing for her family when they were growing up.  She also loved the family animals, especially her current canine friend, Misty.

Doris is survived by her husband, Lowell; her children, Glenna Callen (Rodney), Randall Smith (Jeanette), Kenneth Smith (Susann), Lora Vanbeek and Lisa Barnes; grandchildren, Matthew Callen, Clayton Callen, Aaron Smith, Adam Smith, Aura Hinds, Abigail Smith, Peter Smith, Elizabeth Vanbeek, Emily Vanbeek and James Vanbeek and by eighteen great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sisters, Alice Cook and Thelma Koester.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Leon Hill and a granddaughter, Sarah Smith.

Services honoring Doris’ life will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Grace Fellowship Church, 3184 MO-240, Fayette, Missouri.  Visitation will be an hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow the service at Ashland Cemetery in Fayette.
