Donald Charles Hanson, aged 86, died on June 1, 2025, peacefully at home with his loving family by his side.
Donald was born on March 19, 1939, in Forest City, Iowa. He married the love of his life, Blanche (Hard) Hanson on June 18, 1960.
He is survived by his wife, Blanche and 4 daughters, Sandy Todd (Mike), Barbie Lubbers (Tim), Beth Lane, Sue Jennings (Terry). 9 grandchildren, Donnie Todd (Linda), Tom Todd, Kellie Smith (Curtis), Nikki Hunt (Zach), Jennifer Vollrath (Dan), Jonathan Lane 9Stef), Trey Jennings (Stormy), Seth Jennings (Taylor), Audrey Oestreich (Gage),17 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leon and Luella (Grau) Hanson, 2 sisters, Joan Dohrer and Terry McAnally and on great grandson, Alex Todd.
He lived in Iowa where he farmed for a living. He moved his family to Kingdom City, MO in 1977. He farmed, sold equipment, and did custom work. He was a “Jack of all Trades”.
He was an active member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and the Farmers morning coffee club. He thoroughly enjoyed working. He was very proud of his many accomplishments and his family. As Don would say, “I have lived a good life.”
Don was a strong man of faith and will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Hatton, MO on June 11, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.
