Dennis Blake Spry

Dennis "Blake" Spry, of Harrisburg, passed away unexpectedly on February 16, 2025, peacefully at his home, at the age of 65. He was born on May 17, 1959, in Columbia, MO, the son of Harold Vaughn Spry (Lillian Spry) and Luda Mae (Blakemore) Francis (Roy Francis).

Blake was married to Karen J. Spry, who preceded him in death. He retired as a lieutenant from the Columbia Fire Department after years of dedicated service. He also owned and operated Pool Manager, Inc. for 12 years.

Blake loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing cards, camping at Bennett Springs, mushroom and deer hunting, fishing, and cooking.

Survivors include his children, Cody (Cara) Spry of Commerce, Texas; Kale (Paige) Spry of Columbia; Kala (Aaron) Addis of Harrisburg; Kady (Levi) McCowan of Harrisburg, his grandchildren, Taylar, Talon, and Cason Spry; Jacob, Jace, and Kora Addis; Riley Spry; and Baby McCowan, his siblings, Billy (Kathy) Spry of Harrisburg; John (Vickie) Spry of Harrisburg; Vonna (Randy) Foley of Clark, his stepfather, Roy Francis of Columbia, and many nieces and nephews. 
Blake was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Spry; his parents, Harold Spry and Luda Francis; and his stepmother, Lillian Spry.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 1st, at 12:30 p.m. at the Harrisburg Lions Club Community Building. Blake loved to enjoy meals and fellowship with family and friends.  We ask you to join us in sharing stories and a meal because you know Blake wouldn’t let you leave without eating something. Side dishes and desserts are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to help cover unexpected funeral costs. Any remaining donations will be given to Riley Spry to assist in obtaining a service dog.
