Debra Ann (Cunneen) Blackwell

Debra Ann Blackwell, 72, passed away on October 20, 2024, at University Hospital & Clinics.

Debra was born February 11, 1952, in Houston, Texas, to the late Robert and Shirley (Hardin) Cunneen.  She was employed for many years as a nurse’s aide at the HST Veterans Hospital and later at Lenoir, first as a nurse’s aide then a cook, eventually becoming the Dietary Manager.   Debra was caring and forgiving and enjoyed life to the fullest.  She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and anything else that had to do with being outdoors.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Debra is survived by her son, Scott Blackwell (Charlotte “Jeannie” Davis) and two grandchildren, Jonathan and Makayla Blackwell, all of Columbia.

Memorial services celebrating Debra’s life will be at 5:30 p.m., Friday, November 1, 2024, at Rockbridge Church of God (Holiness) with Pastor Davis officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until time for the service.
