David Eric Lee

David Eric Lee, 65, and Tamra Rae Lee, 62, of Columbia, married for over 42 years, both passed away the weekend of August 13-16, 2021 due to COVID-19.

A Committal Service with honors will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 10, 2021 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri.

David was born January 4, 1956, in Salinas, California, the son Boyd and Winfred Champlin Lee and they preceded him in death.  Tamra was born July 17, 1959, in San Diego, California, the daughter of Richard, Sr. and Evelyn VanDoll Newton and Evelyn preceded her in death.  On April 20, 1979, David and Tamra were married in Wenatchee, Washington.  David served in the U. S. Navy for 20 years.  After the service, David worked in the accounting business.  He had his own accounting firm and also worked for other accounting businesses. Tamra was a homemaker, home schooling the three children through the twelfth grade, teaching them how to cook and encouraging each of them in their hobbies. 

David and Tamra loved each other and loved their family.  They loved Jesus and wanted each of their children to love Jesus and see God.

They are survived by three children, Daniel Lee (Isabella) of Milwaukie, Oregon, Jessie Lee of Jefferson City, and Rebecca McCloud (Michael) of Kernersville, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Brendon, Nicole, and Kelila.  David is also survived by two siblings, Brian Lee (Debbie) and Linda Smith (James).  Tamra is also survived by her father, Richard Newton, Sr.(Donna); a brother, Richard Newton, Jr. (Ruth) and two half siblings.        

David was also preceded in death by a sister, Judy.
