Danielle Lorine (Benda) Thomas

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Danielle Lorine Thomas, a radiant soul whose kindness and love touched all who knew her. Danielle was born on August 31, 1978, in Kirksville, Missouri, to her loving parents, Robin and Rodney Benda. She was a devoted wife to Edward Thomas, whom she married on December 20, 2023, and a beloved mother to her two beautiful children, Caleb Chipman and Ashley Thomas—her greatest joys in life.

Danielle was a fighter, a survivor, and an inspiration. She bravely battled cancer and emerged victorious, proving her unwavering strength and resilience. Her spirit was one of pure light and warmth—she had a heart that welcomed everyone, a kindness that knew no limits, and a love that made everyone feel valued and cherished. Whether family, friend, or stranger, Danielle had a way of making people feel at home in her presence.

Right before she passed she said, "I am a diamond, and diamonds don’t break." And that is how she will be remembered—unbreakable in spirit, beautiful in heart, and shining eternally in the lives of those she loved.

Though she has left this world, her love, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

A celebration of Danielle’s life will be held on [date to be determined], where family and friends will gather to honor her legacy and the incredible impact she had on so many lives.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents and maternal grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Edward; her children, Ashley and Caleb; her parents, Robin and Rodney; her sister, Heather (Aaron) Roots; her sister, Holly (Bradley) Belanger; her brother, Zachery Benda; as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who all loved her dearly.
