Daniel Emerson “Dan” Mann
1937 – 2024

Daniel “Dan” Mann, 86, of Fayette passed away May 4, 2024, at the University of Missouri Hospital.

Dan was born in LaHarpe, IL on May 19, 1937, a son of Noble and Imogene Leinweber Mann.  He married Florence Hill on September 9, 1961, in University City and she preceded him in death.

He was employed with the University of Missouri Columbia South Farm.  He enjoyed working on his farm, popping kettle corn at area fairs and festivals, hunting and volunteering at the Fayette Food Pantry.  Dan had a generous heart and didn’t know a stranger.  He was a founding member of Hillside Baptist Church.  He also served in the US Army Military Police.

Survivors include his children, Tom (Angela) Mann and Donna (Lynn) Fahrmeier; brothers, Bill and Fred Mann and sister, Gail Forrest.  Also cherishing his memory are his grandchildren, Courtney (Mike) Carpenter, Michael (Whitney) Mann, Caitlin Mann, Samuel Fahrmeier and Elizabeth (Dillon) Linneman and great-grandchildren, Landon and Mason Mann and Rachel and Riley Carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Florence “Flo” Mann; his parents and a brother, Ted Mann.

Services honoring Dan’s life will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Carr-Yager Funeral Home in Fayette with Pastor Ken Stacey officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Hillside Baptist Church.
