Carolyn Kay Volden, 73, of New Franklin passed away July 3, 2024, at the University of Missouri Hospital. Carolyn was born in Petersburg, MO on November 15, 1950, a daughter of Emmett and Sarah Wilson Offineer.
Carolyn was employed at Cooper County Memorial Hospital for 25 years as an insurance clerk. She was a talented artist and dedicated crafter. In her younger years she enjoyed skateboarding. She also enjoyed swimming, spending time with her friends and family and loved a frozen margarita. Her daughter, Sarah, remembers that she had the most beautiful smile and a great sense of humor and that she didn’t know a stranger. In the past she liked participating in activities at the Boonville Senior Center.
Carolyn is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Sarah Volden and wife, Nicole Volden; a sister, Louise Boggs and husband, Allen Ray, Louise shared that Carolyn was the best sister anyone could have; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends, including her best friend of 68 years, Karen Lynn Roberts. Carolyn was also looking forward to the birth of her granddaughter, Annika Volden in January 2025.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by brothers, Mac, J.T. and Roy Offineer.
A Celebration of Life honoring Carolyn will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin.
