Carl Lee Loesing

Carl Lee Loesing, 72, of New Franklin passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

Carl was born on May 31, 1953, in Fayette to Wilber and Marie (Felten) Loesing.  He was a 1971 graduate of New Franklin High School.  After school he began a lifelong career as a farmer on the family farm.

On July 20, 1984, Carl married the love of his life Sheila (Dee) Parker in New Franklin.  They had two children, Brittany and Matthew.

After retiring from farming, Carl worked at Missouri Pacific Lumber and Walmart.  He finally retired to the homestead, spending time with his granddaughters and taking long rides with his loyal dog Mozie.

Carl is survived by his wife, Dee Loesing of the home; daughter Brittany (John) Barthelme of Pleasanton, KS; son, Matt (Hannah) Loesing of New Franklin and granddaughters, Emylee Barthelme, Audrey Loesing and Olivia Loesing.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Marie Loesing and a sister, Carolyn Sumpter.

A memorial service honoring Carl’s life will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 22, 2025, at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin with Rev. Tim Fairley officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  A private family inurnment will follow the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin.
